You know summer has arrived when Hampton Court Palace gardens are in full bloom and the place is buzzing with green-fingered visitors attending the famous RHS Garden Festival. Formerly the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, this is an annual celebration of all things gardening held in Hampton Court Palace in East Molesey, just outside London.
When is the Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival?
The RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival takes place annually at the beginning of July. This is when the gardens are at their summer best, and flowers are in full bloom. It’s a week-long festival and with a day ticket, you can expect a lovely summer’s day out in a beautiful setting.
How much is the Hampton Court Palace Festival?
Adult ticket prices are between £23 and £50 depending on the day, with special rates for RHS members and cheaper rates if you book for admission after 3pm. There are also members-only festival days and cheaper child rates. Children under 5 can visit for free, and you’re welcome to bring with you one well-behaved dog per booking. Book tickets here.
Is there a dress code at the Hampton Court Garden Festival?
This is an outdoor event, so the advice is to dress for the weather. Although there is a specific track laid out, things can get a little muddy if it’s been raining. Open-toed sandals, flip-flops and high heels aren’t recommended.
What to see at the Garden Festival?
See gorgeous floral displays, pick up new gardening tips from experts and buy tools, bulbs and plants from stalls. You can also learn new skills from expert workshops and attend celebrity demonstrations to inspire you. There are also chefs and performers to feed and entertain you. Topical garden themes change every year to give you new ideas on how to turn your own green space into something special.
